Beutefahrzeuge

Background:

The use of Beutefahrzeuge (Captured Vehicles) was common practice since WW1. During WW2 the Germans put them to good use. Some of the vehicles were taken to be evaluated, others were used as-is. Others were converted (some by simply adding an artillery piece onto the chassis, still trhers were heavily reworked with new armored superstructures, or "Kubel" type coachwork. The Germans also came upon stocks of equipment (as in Czechoslovakia and France) and they also put to use existing factories and labor from annexed countries to make more of the vehicles or newer style vehicles. This was ongoing from 1935 until the 7th of May, 1945, when Germany surrendered all of it's military forces uncoditionally to the Allies.
